SOUTHERN KWAZULU-NATAL, SOUTH AFRICA: A new season of 'Naked and Afraid' starts on Discovery on May 7, and fans of the reality program are excited to watch. The survival program puts two people's willpower to the test as they attempt to brave the elements without clothing or sustenance. The participants, with the exception of one another, live in near-constant isolation in a distant area. While the program adheres to certain basic guidelines, the new spin-off 'Naked and Afraid: Last One Standing' promises some genuinely unexpected conditions.
Prepare to see a slew of contestants compete in the buff! A new Discovery Channel series will pit some of the toughest contestants from 'Naked and Afraid' against each other for the title of 'Last One Standing,' the "first ever perfect 10 Primal Survival Rating," and a $100,000 cash prize.

'Naked and Afraid: Last One Standing' will see 12 'Naked and Afraid' luminaries take on a task like no other in South Africa's Oribi Gorge, according to People. The arduous task will last 45 days, with the first phase consisting of a 21-day competition in which the 12 survivalists will operate in pairs. This round also has a twist: if a person taps out early, their companion is also dismissed from the program. The remaining contestants compete through a team task with and against their colleagues in the second part of the challenge. The survivalists will face a three-day "everyone-out-for-themselves fight to the finish" in the last round.
The cast of 'Naked and Afraid: Last One Standing' includes Waz Addy, a former pro rugby player, and military veteran, Sarah Bartell, a three-time 'Naked and Afraid' survivalist, and Jeff Zausch, who appeared on the original show as well as the 'Naked and Afraid: Savages' and 'Naked and Afraid XL' spinoffs.
Amber Hargrove, a decorated Army veteran, will also compete in the new season after spending 148 days on 'Naked and Afraid' and being the only woman on the program to complete a 60-day challenge. Matt Wright will also return, joining the race as the competitor with the most completed 'Naked and Afraid' days in his satchel: 215.
It turns out that four major criteria must be satisfied in order for a location to be regarded as a feasible location for the program to be filmed. While speaking with Reality Blurred, Steve Rankin, the show's executive producer, revealed what he looks for when scouting a new location.
Fans of 'Naked and Afraid' may think the first requirement is self-evident. To begin with, the site must be distant. This is critical for giving the cast members the impression that they are actually isolated from the general population and important resources. Steve and his staff also make certain that the temperature isn't too high. A possible spot is swiftly ruled out if it is too hot or too chilly. The availability of resources is also taken into account. During their 21-day stay, contestants must have access to drinking water. Finally, in the event of a serious emergency, a suitable location must have a clear path for evacuation. A place is considered feasible if it checks all four conditions.
