Larkin was a standout player at Miami, where he was named ACC Player of the Year by the coaches in 2013 and won the Lute Olson Award. Larkin was drafted 18th overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2013 NBA Draft and was later traded to the Dallas Mavericks, where he played from 2013 to 2014. He then played for the New York Knicks from 2014 to 2015 and the Brooklyn Nets from 2015 to 2016 before heading to Spain to play for Baskonia. While there, he was named to the All-Spanish League Second Team.
